Work Experience

Getting the opportunity to work with a professional who has a strong reputation and credit within the film and television industry was a great experience to learn about. Kevin Amos has helped me find a strong influence on my aspersions of a careers within the Film and TV production.

Reasons for Seeking Work Experience
As a young inspiring film maker, I am deeply interested in how video production works. Behind the lens I sought out work experience to gain practical skills and to understand the High-Tec equipment used by professionals in the industry. This opportunity allowed me to enhance my knowledge of the multiple roles involved when working within a crew on a production or set. It was a crucial stepping stone toward a successful progressive adventure into the world of Film and Television.

During the shoot

Whist filming the shoot I got to be the boom operator this meant I was responsible for recoding and documenting the timestamps of the audio files. During filming I held a boom microphone and a four Channel DSLR Camera Audio Recorder to capture the clearest and good constant volume of noise. I Aimed to isolate the desired audio whilst trying not to capture unwanted environmental sounds.

Post Editing

Post editing is a the final stage of the work as its integral to make the cuts flow seamlessly and makes the transition from one angle to the other practically invisible to the passive spectator. This is where the main importance of timestamps comes into play. Being able to sync the audio timestamps to the video timestamps is the most important part of editing. This enables the correct audio to align natural and fluid to the video in order to have the best experience for the viewer and create a seamless quality viewing.

The Final result

This experience has led to a great effort, through my input as a boom operator and managing the audio quality, the final result has come to a great success with the video being available to the public online.
