Behind the Lens

Behind the lens of the camera: People know me as that person who is reliable, who is trustworthy, who is a determined character when heading towards a goal. I like to view myself with a creative spirit, with most of my hobbies including active or creating motives. This includes passions such as scuba diving, marshals arts, guitar and film making, just to name a few. Some of these hobbies have been recent interests of mine due to my now keen interest to learn new skills and talents. As beforehand I didn’t have a lot of passion apart from spending countless hours on my Xbox or just scrolling through my phone. Thankfully I have now been spending my time with more productive hobbies which has changed my character and outlook on the world.

The biggest change I have seen from these hobbies is film making, being able to use the surrounding environment around me as a canvas for my art, this has opened up the world to me in a unique and interesting perspective. As I visit different areas and locations my mind races to think of possible short story’s that can be told within the area. I find myself scanning the environment for strong and compelling areas that can be explored through my knowledge and skill of cinematography. Being able to take a random location within a town or outside in the country and to turn it into a piece of media is very exciting.

Behind the lens I get to view the world differently, behind the lens I get to interact with people in a collaborative way, behind the lens I get to really show my own beliefs dreams, interests and emotions. All this through the glass lens of a camera.
