CINIMATIC INFULENCES
Much of my work is attributed to professional personnel within the industry. independent film makers, Cinematographers, Directors, photographers and artists. This helps me develop my knowledge and practical skills when working behind the lens. By becoming inspired and motivated by these individuals it allows me to create cinematic art when creating a scene in the frame.
Chloé Zhao and Joshua James RIchards
Chloé Zhao is an Chinese independent film maker, her narratives are heavily based apron the real life experiences and lifestyle of the main actors ,with either family members playing themselves in the film or the location having heavily sentimental value to them. This allows the loose fictional of the plot to feel more like a documentary and a window into these unique or overlooked sub cultures and lifestyles within America.

MY OWN WORK
I achieved this shot through having a camera car behind me recording the footage of the car in motion, this allowed me to get a strong tracking shot. This shot of a car across a vast and lush landscape relating to the road culture seen within the wide tracking shots of traveling scenes within Nomadland.
Bill Harder and Carl Herse
Carl Herse and Bill Harder have create a strong and compelling story of a hitman wanting to lead a better life. through Carl Herse’s use of lighting within his cinematography, the world within Barry gets explored much deeper with various characters backstory’s or current emotional state explored through his strong use of framing and juxtaposing lighting to the scene.

MY OWN WORK
learning from carl Hersh style of simple yet effective use of camera angles and composting within his work helped me understand how to use lighting to my advantage and how to frame a chanter within the shot to express emotion or to give more meaning to a small sequence.
Spike lee and Ernest Dickerson
Do the right think is one of my favourite films not only for its strong representation of the heat through the cinematography with lighting, colour and filters. They even used heat lamps above the camera to give the distorted effect. It uses film as a form of Rebellion against the racism during the 1980’s with Mookie’s derision in the final scene still being debated today. This inspiration from spike lee shows his signature style throughout his films.
