HIGH FREQUNCEY
What challenges did i face during this project ?
During the post editing process I learnt a lot about colouring grading within films and how it can change the aesthetic and tone of the film. Using my knowable of colour theory I was able to connote a message and emotion within the audience. Escapism and euphoria are the main themes within the film and its main subject of an musical interment being used as a form of reverie. This software and colour style of editing was a challenging process. This was due to many reasons. I had a particular asthenic and mood I wanted to achieve(see within cinematic influences). This set look was hard to achieve and had many setbacks and different approaches.
Other reasons was the sound design, with regards to my limited film making gear most of the sound was recorded separately , this meant I had to synchronise the different elements with the scene to make each movement and action to make a believable sound to the audience to create as an authentic, organic sound and make it look diegetic within each shot.
The soundtrack within High Frequency is of my own guitar. I wanted to explore my musical abilities by making a unique and original piece for the short film. going through multiple drafts and ideas, I decided on a simple 3 chord progression mixing down strumming and alterative picking.
